Hotel Buena Vista

The beautiful Sea of Cortez in Mexico offers some of the best sportfishing in the world, including blue, black and striped marlin, enormous wahoo, tuna, yellowtail, sailfish, roosterfish and dorado. Hotel Buenavista's fishing fleet is the most experienced on the East Cape, and includes 22 boats, from 23-foot Super Pangas and 29-foot Phoenix Cruisers to a 31-foot Cruiser. All are fully equipped with safety and fishing equipment and are manned by professional crews (experienced in both conventional and fly-fishing) who know the sea and its denizens. This is Big Fish Baja, as seen with Ronnie Kovach's "Fishing Expeditions" on ESPN. Come experience the thrill!

Sailfish in MexicoConservation

Hotel Buenavista Beach Resort believes strongly in conserving our natural resources, and supports the Worldwide Billfish Foundation and its catch-and-release program. In fact, 75% of our billfish are released to fight another day (more than 1300 this past year alone). Hotel Buenavista anglers who release fish receive a special patch, signifying their commitment to the program. In addition, most of Hotel Buenavista's captains are participating in the Captains 25+ Release Team awards program, sponsored by the Billfish Foundation and Penn Fishing Tackle. As part of the Billfish Foundation's worldwide effort to promote the catch-and-release concept, the Captains 25+ Release Team provides special recognition to captains who release more than 25 billfish annually.

Dorado Fishing in MexicoExperienced Captains

Last year alone, Hotel Buenavista released more than 990 billfish to fight another day. So don't wait, contact B&B Worldwide Fishing Adventures now to reserve your dates at this fantastic Mexican fishing resort! Situated on the beach looking out toward the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California) you are only a few steps from some of the most exciting fly-fishing available anywhere in the Baja peninsula.  Even before breakfast you can walk the beach and find where the hot springs beneath the hotel seep into the sea. The warm water attracts the baitfish, which in turn attracts different species that will take a fly . . . sierra mackerel, Pacific bonito, ladyfish, jack crevalle and roosterfish.

Hotel Buena VistaHotel Buena Vista Accommodations

Our resort is an unexpected tropical paradise in the midst of the Baja desert. Towering coconut palms, plumeria trees, lush lawns and an abundance of colorful flowers will surprise and delight you here. A branch of the Colorado River runs all the way down the Baja peninsula and passes through the base of a volcano near Buena Vista, where it continues its winding, underground passage to the sea. Along the way, it bubbles up to the surface places as hot springs. Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort sits directly over this secret river, which accounts for the resort’s luxuriant landscape and its amazingly pure water. Just off shore from the hotel's white sand beach, the river bubbles up into the ocean—creating a perpetual hot spot just offshore.

Both the standard and premium rooms are the same size with identical floor plans. They are comfortable-casual in décor and style. Most include two double beds (we have a few kind-sized beds if you would prefer), a telephone, nightstands, dresser with mirror, conversation table and chairs and a bathroom with shower. Each room has its own coffee pot and an outdoor patio with chaise lounge, table and chairs. The premium rooms are located around the pool and restaurant area and close to the beach. Nearly all of them have hammocks as well. The standard rooms are terraced up the gently sloping hillside toward the reception area, a short walk away. All rooms have lockable interconnecting doors for family convenience and daily maid service. Laundry service is available. There is a safe in the reception area.
