DAY
1 FRIDAY |
|
You
arrive at Panama City's Tocumen International Airport. A
representative will meet you in the baggage claim area after you
clear Immigration and Customs. Transportation to your hotel from
Tocumen International Airport (taxis, omnibuses, or vans) will be
curbside as you exit the terminal. Look for a Pesantez Tours
representative holding a PINAS BAY RESORTS -TROPIC STAR LODGE
sign. Once all guests are on board you will be taken to the hotel
(approximately a 20-minute drive). The representative will give
you a letter regarding the time you will be picked up the next
morning. Please ask him for it, if he fails to give it to you.
Please note that tips for Panama City airport porters, drivers, or
hotel porters are not included and are at your discretion.
The
WESTIN CAESAR PARK and BRISTOL HOTEL are both convenient to Albrook, the domestic Airport in Panama City, where our charter
flight to the Lodge departs from and returns to on Saturdays. |
|
DAY
2 SATURDAY |
|
Dress
casually for travel to the Lodge: light comfortable shirt, beach
shoes (that are easily slipped off), shorts, or pants which can be
rolled up easily. |
|
In
the morning, you will be taken to Albrook Airport, approximately
fifteen minutes from the WESTIN CAESAR PARK or BRISTOL HOTEL, to
board our charter flight to the Lodge. We normally charter Twin
Otters, Islanders, Caravans, or Senecas, depending on the number
of people and amount of cargo going to the Lodge. You must be at
the Domestic Airport (Albrook) at least forty-five minutes prior
to departure, so that your luggage can be weighed and loaded
aboard the aircraft. Pick up at the hotel and departure time
of the charter flight will be given to you on your arrival Friday
evening. We may also leave a message for you at the hotel if there
are any changes. |
|
The
charter flight will land at the Piņas Bay airstrip approximately
fifty minutes after take off. You will take a short walk to our
tractor-trailer, which will transport you to a panga for the short
boat trip to the Lodge. During some low tides it may be necessary
for you to wade out to the panga. Please dress accordingly. |
|
The
remainder of the day will be spent relaxing, swimming, and
preparing for a fantastic week of fishing! Also, kayaks are
available for your use that afternoon. Our Welcome Cocktail Party
is held that evening around the pool area, followed by a buffet
dinner, where you can get to know your fellow anglers. |
|
DAYS
3 - 8 SUNDAY - FRIDAY |
|
Fishing,
swimming, kayaking, beach-combing, exploring jungle rivers,
watching fishing videos, meeting new friends, swapping fish
stories, and just basically being spoiled and pampered by our
friendly staff; and, oh yes, did we mention fishing, fishing, and
more fishing! The boats depart at 6:30 A.M., or later if
requested, and returns to the dock by 3:30 P.M., unless you are
hooked up. For safety purposes all boats must return to port well
before dark. |
|
DAY
9 SATURDAY |
|
You
are transported via boat to the Pinas airstrip for your flight
back to Panama City, where you will be transferred to your hotel.
The evening is open to be spent as you choose. The following day,
Sunday, you are transported to Tocumen International Airport for
you departure home. NOTE: The charter flight may get you back to
Panama City early enough to make the afternoon American Airlines
or COPA Airlines flight back to the U.S.A. Delays due to
mechanical problems, acts of god, and schedule changes can happen.
If your flight out of Panama City is scheduled before 02:00 p.m.,
on Saturday, you will probably miss your connection, unless you
book a special charter back to Panama City on Friday or early
Saturday morning. Call us for fare quotes for special charters, if
needed. |
