Disclosures

  • Prices are subject to change, but will not change any confirmed bookings.

  • Weather in the summer is relatively mild, but can on rare occasions, be too stormy for excursions. Safety comes first, and we may choose to cancel any daily excursion due to weather. We will not be responsible for delays or loss due to weather or other acts of God.

  • Southeast Alaska gets a fair amount of rain during the year, which is what makes the fishing good and the scenery fabulous. Average Max temperatures tend to be in the 60s, and occasionally get into the mid 70's. Layered clothing is best as it can go from rain to sunshine in minutes (and vice versa)

  • While we take your safety extremely seriously, these types of trips are not without risk. A waiver of liability will be required to be signed by all parties before arrival. Saltery Lodge will not be held responsible for any loss or injury.

  • A 25% Deposit is required within 10 days to confirm booking. The remaining amount is required within 60 days of your reservation. The deposit and the final payment are non-refundable, although if we can rebook your slot, we will refund your money. Trip insurance is recommended to cover any loss of payment due to unexpected circumstances.

  • Depending on the number of people at the lodge and other factors, you may or may not be fishing on Sarana.

  • High speed internet and telephone service will be available.

  • Inside the lodge and vessel are non-smoking. We do not tolerate drug use from our staff or guests.

  • If you're allergic to any food items, please let us know in advance of your arrival.

  • We are in the process of obtaining our Alcohol Serving Permit. For safety reasons, no intoxication will be allowed on any of our vessels or excursions.

Fishing Program

For saltwater Alaska fishing, we fish for king salmon, silver salmon, pink salmon, halibut, and other bottom fish. Halibut are good all summer in southeast Alaska. The pink salmon peak from July to mid September. The silver salmon start in July and actually peak in September in our area. We will also let you work crab and shrimp pots so you can enjoy them that evening on the dinner table! If fresh water Alaska fishing is your game, we can arrange for guided or unguided fresh water trips. We operate under a US Forest Service Special Use Permit. If you choose to go unguided, the Naha River system is a world class southeast Alaska fishing stream containing salmon and trout and is only a short distance from the lodge.
